about

Having cut his teeth with the J.Y. Tele – ‘Aliens’ re-score, which was shown at the ICA in support of DJ Yoda’s ‘Goonies’ project and at the closing party of the Iconscious film festival, Leci's debut on Absent Music, ‘G_Y’, reveals a buckled mind on a devious mission. Attention to detail is everything, which explains why it has taken almost a thousand years for 'G_Y' to make it out of his studio and into the ‘real’ world but, the wait has been very much worth it.

Edit-mungus madness with a brutal beat, ‘G_Y’ is a sublime trip into dancefloor glitchness that leaves a lasting impression. Comparisons to Analord, Squarepusher and Jimmy Edgar are regularly being made, but Leci’s Electro for the unhinged is a beast of purity and ‘G_Y’ is only the beginning. With support from The Plump DJs, Nick Luscombe on Xfm and Jay Cunning on Kiss, Leci’s debut has been ecstatically received.

Remix action comes from stable mates Falls & Regis, who bend the original’s riff into a deep Breaks ‘floor workout, that will satisfy the more straight laced types. Meanwhile, label lynchpin Nuitake (Antikue’s Alter Ego) drops a clicking mind melter that has been getting the reviewers at One Week To Live all hot and bothered.
